Stolen auto discovered following Vic bikie capturing

A motor vehicle has been observed in Melbourne’s north soon after it was stolen through the shooting of a previous bikie gang member.

The ex-Mongols member, aged in his 30s, was driving the wheel of a Mercedes 4WD on Saturday when he was gunned down.

He was driven to Fawkner Law enforcement Station ahead of being taken to Royal Melbourne Healthcare facility in a significant condition.

The gunmen fled in a Mazda SUV before getting rid of control, crashing into a fire hydrant and pole on Box Forest Road, around Sydney Road, law enforcement say.

They then carjacked a Ford Territory, forcing a woman and youngster from the auto before escaping.

The Territory was observed in Epping, about 20km north of the metropolis, about 10am on Saturday, law enforcement have verified.

Investigators believe the taking pictures was a specific attack.

The wounded man’s issue improved overnight, with a RMH spokesperson confirming he is secure.
