Senator condemns Biden’s proposed Title IX rule in letter to Education Secretary: ‘Irreparable harm to women’

Exclusive: Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., sharply criticized President Biden’s proposed Title IX guidelines in a letter to Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona, contacting the interpretation “misguided” and resulting in “irreparable harm to women of all ages.”

The Office of Education’s proposed principles would grow Title IX’s protections to include sexual orientation and gender identity, drawing harsh criticism from opponents who imagine it would damage women’s rights.
