Musk denies alleged ‘romantic’ affair

Tesla boss Elon Musk has denied a report that he had been associated in an affair with the wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin, insisting the two tech billionaires continue being close friends.

Musk’s tweets came following a Wall Street Journal report that cited unidentified resources declaring he experienced engaged in a brief affair with Nicole Shanahan.

The paper said the affair prompted Brin to file for divorce from Shanahan this year and finished the billionaires’ prolonged friendship.

Dismissing the report on Sunday, Musk tweeted: “This is overall bs. Sergey and I are pals and have been at a party alongside one another last evening! I’ve only viewed Nicole 2 times in 3 several years, each times with many other men and women about. Absolutely nothing romantic.”

Tesla and Google, whose dad or mum firm is Alphabet Inc, did not straight away respond to Reuters’ requests for comments outdoors regular enterprise hours.

Reuters wasn’t promptly capable to reach Brin or Shanahan for remark. A law firm for Brin declined to comment to the WSJ, and Shanahan did not answer to requests from the paper for comment.

Brin submitted for divorce citing “irreconcilable distinctions,” the Journal claimed, quoting information it stated ended up filed in Santa Clara County Superior Court docket.

Reuters wasn’t capable to determine independently whether or not divorce papers have been submitted.

In its report, the WSJ also said Brin instructed his advisers to promote own investments in Musk’s firms just after he arrived to know about the affair.
