Eight men and women have been retrieved from the summit of Mt Wellington, overlooking Hobart, immediately after getting stranded in blizzard-like situations.
Two of the walkers are blessed to have survived the ordeal, law enforcement say.
News of the rescues follows the demise of a girl struck by a slipping tree in stormy weather on Tasmania’s northwest coast.
Authorities say a team of 4 walkers grew to become exposed to wild winds and weighty snow at kunanyi observation place, also known as The Pinnacle, on Mt Wellington, shortly right after midday on Saturday.
The get together sought assistance from two other folks in the region and the 6 took refuge in a rest room block right until support arrived.
