Embarking on her sixth Commonwealth Games, squash royalty Rachael Grinham will be part of 3-time hockey gold medallist Eddie Ockenden as Australia’s flagbearers at the opening ceremony in Birmingham.
Pursuing on from twin flagbearers at the Tokyo Olympics – the place Cate Campbell and Patty Mills had the honour – 45-year-previous Grinham and Kookaburras veteran Ockenden will lead the staff into Alexander Stadium on Thursday night time (Friday morning AEST).
